Crawling to the Pubs- Part 2

I am proud to announce that Sticker Search 2010 is officially over.
I may still join my friends Brandy and Jessi on their quest to finish the card but as of last night, i have hit my 25. Completed entries are entered into a drawing for a $1000 bar tab and i can just feel that it has my name on it!! :)

Here's what we hit last night:

Dino's
Warehouse District on Tchop and Calliope
I like Dino's. I've been here a number of times and have never really had a problem. Occasionally when they have live music, its a bit too loud/crowded but overall its generally good. Yesterday in particular the atmposphere was great and the bartender was super friendly.

Eiffel Society
Uptown- on St. Charles
This place was cool. It looked like something out of Moulin Rouge and the elevator especially had this creepy antique feel to it. They weren't actually open (they're apparently closed tuesdays) but we found the business office and the guy gave us a sticker if we promised to come back and have a drink next time. Seems expensive but i would like to go back.

Bulldog- Magazine
I like the crowd at this place. Sometimes its a bit TOO crowded but last night was fine. Bartender was cool, bathroom was clean. Mixed drinks are on the high side but it was happy hour so it was a double for the price of a single so that was good.

Nacho Mamas- Magazine
I always seem to run into someone i know here... i didn't last night but in almost every other time, i had. Weird. Anyway...its a good little place. Food/drinks aren't anything to write home about but they're fine and the waitress we had was really sweet. Decent people go there and its got a good feel.

Oak Wine Bar
Oak St- off Carrollton
This was a cool little place. Its just opened and its very Sex and the City. Crowd was a bit of the stuck up type and drinks were very expensive but the bartenders were relatively friendly. The greatest thing was the 16 year old singer/piano player. He did a lot of Elton John and Billy Joel covers and was FANTASTIC. For a few other songs, he was joined by a couple other musicians. We stayed here much longer than anticipated listening to him (them.) The glass of wine i had was tasty but it was $12. I should have looked at the menu. They apparently have food too but its all fru fru stuff. Would be a good stop on a bachlorette party barhop.

Rivershack
Jefferson on River Road
This place had the honor of giving me my last sticker... i even have a picture with the nice bartender there.
Its a dive but you know that going in. Tequila Sunrise was not very good...note to self, do not order that from there again. But the place is fun...lots of decor and what not.
I'd been there for lunch before and a couple of times for live music but its not a bad place to just hang out for a bit on a random tuesday night either.

Once we started hitting six places a night, this task went by a lot quicker! Thanks to Hunter it was no longer a game, it was a quest. Big thanks also to Jessi, Mike, Brandy, Jen and Jeff P! (And all the others who joined me at some point in the last few weeks.)

I hope the Gambit does something like this again next year. It was a lot of fun and i'm glad i got to try so many different bars that i otherwise may not have ever gone to.
